A year has passed today since Radio Wataha was founded. It was a year of hard work, fascinating conversations and meetings with fantastic Poles. From the very beginning, we were guided by the idea to integrate the Polish community living in Norway. We are still going in this direction, and thanks to you - our readers and listeners - we are able to reach more and more of our countrymen!

Thank you!

First of all, we would like to thank all the readers and listeners - without you and your trust, we would not have been able to achieve our goals. As Radio Wataha, we are a social project. That is why we are extremely pleased that almost 3000 Poles liked us on Facebook.

effects

It is known, however, that Radio Wataha does not live by likes alone. Below are some other statistics from our fanpage:

  • monthly we reach over 100 thousand Poles,
  • our posts generate over 50 user activity,
  • there are 80 to 100 likes per week.

In addition, we have created a whole network of social groups, the total number of users of which is almost 100. people. Thank you!

First studio and move

We started our activity in a much smaller studio than the one in which we currently operate. Strenuous and organic work allowed us to move to a larger room, thanks to which we are able to receive amazing guests and organize small concerts for our listeners. The best example of this is the performance of the "Muzyki Orawskiej" ensemble, which you have already watched over 26 thousand. times!

However, before we came to our current studio, we had to renovate it and adapt it to our needs. We managed to complete the task, and you can see how the work looked like in the photos below:

Entertainment and important matters

During the year of operation, in our Radio Wataha, we discussed issues important to every Pole, and we also provided you with a lot of entertainment. We ran the LIVE! incl. the Farba concert (twice!), KOMBI or the performance of Ani Mru Mru cabaret with Jerzy Kryszak.

There were also performances by Polish performers who live in Norway on a daily basis:

There were also Polish accents in Norwegian bands!

Important matters

Our goal is also to present what life in Norway is really like. To this end, we invite specialists to our studio, thanks to whom the complicated matters of Norwegian law become much more accessible to us, Poles. We touched upon, among others issues related to Barnevernet together with Larysa Kaliuta, and we provided practical advice in the field of construction law together with Paweł Boruń. Our guests were also credit and refinancing specialists.

Conversations and interviews

We also hosted many distinguished guests at Radio Wataha. We talked with Sławomir Łosowski, the founder of the KOMBI band, the cabaret fans from Ani Mru Mru and Jerzy Kryszak, the survival fan Piotr Czuryłło, the singer Remik living in Norway, and many other eminent figures. You can watch all broadcasts on our fanpage >>> HERE <<and their descriptions are available in the "Radio Wataha LIVE!" >>> HERE <<.

Some interviews are only available in writing. For this purpose, we have created a department "Poles are amazing", in which we publish the record of our conversations with Poles. We assume that we are all extraordinary as a nation, therefore no matter what you do - you are all welcome on the pages of our website. There you will find interviews with both Cleo and Sławomir Łosowskiand even for example Przemysław Kaca - Słupsk social activist, or Grzegorz Gucwawho ran the toughest ultramarathon in the world.

We are still with you

We are still with you - the entire Polish community living in Norway. We do not stop our activities, we will continue to develop. We take media patronage over most of the events addressed to the Polish diaspora, and we co-organize many of them. On his part, however thank you for being there and for trusting us!
