Why You Should Eliminate Violence Against Women

Violence against women is very common. Unfortunately, this violence is most often perpetrated by the people closest to us, and women are tortured under their own roof. Why should this phenomenon be eliminated? It is one of the most widespread and devastating human rights violations in the world. Very often, women who fall victim to violence do not report it because of fear, shame, impunity and the stigma imposed on them.

What is violence against a woman

Violence has many names and women experience it in many ways:

  • psychological violence,
  • rape,
  • molestation,
  • unwanted marriage,
  • murder,
  • persecution,
  • bullying in the street,

#HearMeToo

#HearMeTo is the theme of 2018 Orange The World. Of course, as every year, the launch date is 25.11/16. The event will last 10 days and will end on December XNUMX, which is International Human Rights Day. During this time, numerous public events are organized. Their goal is to stimulate people to act and constantly make people aware of the large scale of the problem. Additionally, these events are meant to make women aware of this situation, and for some reason they are afraid to admit that they are not alone. Anyone can take part in the action. If we are unable to attend an event in person, we can show our solidarity on social media by adding a photo of ourselves with #OrangeUrWorld, #OrangeTheWorld, #HearMeToo, #EndVAW  and with the word STOP on the hand.
