A star shone in the sky, Silver and old-fashioned, It shone on Christmas Eve, Everyone has known it since childhood. Long shining rays hung from it from above, And each ray was One Christmas wish. And they came - not magicians, Already a little older - But village carol singers, Ordinary little boys. They seized the rays, As in the belfry by the ropes, So that the pretty star wouldn't fly up. They grabbed the rays in a handful, They hold with all their strength. And now it's all about making wishes come true.
