Weather for New Year's Eve in Norway

Western Norway and Trøndelag is exposed to windy weather on New Years Eve. In addition, very low pressure across the country may make it difficult to see the fireworks fired. The Meteorological Institute announced that the last day of the year does not herald favorable weather. There is a lot of rain and wind waiting for the people of Norway. According to the information provided by meteorologist Gunnar Livik, the worst weather is expected to be in western and central Norway. The strongest gusts of wind that can turn into a storm are announced in Troms, Lofoten and Vesterålen.

Milder temperatures

Despite the forecasted wind and rainfall on New Year's Eve, the New Year will bring milder temperatures. In most parts of the country, residents can still expect rainfall, which will also bring snow in some regions. Livik meteorologist reports that much of northern Norway can expect fewer gusts of wind and cooler temperatures.

Eastern Norway and the best weather forecast

Taking into account Thursday's weather forecast, eastern Norway may have the best weather for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. This is where the view of New Year's Eve fireworks may be the most spectacular. The temperature can reach up to 5 degrees Celsius, but this does not change the fact that this region is also exposed to strong gusts of wind. Agder and Telemark can expect heavy rainfall. These are just forecasts for now, and as we all know, the weather is changeable.
