The holiday season is a time of many traditions. One of them is giving gifts to the people closest to us. It happens, however, that the gift turns out to be wrong, and then what? Gift exchange, is it even possible? Absolutely!

Christmas gift exchange

Contrary to appearances, this is not such a rare situation. The data provided by the Consumer Council shows that almost 40% people decide to exchange a Christmas present. In front of us 27 Grudniawhich, according to Virke trade specialist Brother William Stende, is the busiest day in the post-holiday season. Why? If a person got a wrong gift, they want to replace it as soon as possible, i.e. right after Christmas. Later it may be too late and we may be denied.

Protect yourself against replacement

Maybe this advice shows up too late, because we all have already bought and given gifts, but we should all protect ourselves against the possibility of exchanging the purchased gift. Unfortunately, it often happens that the seller may simply refuse to exchange the item. How to prevent this? Specialists advise that at the time of purchase, ask about the possibility of replacing it and ask the seller to write this information on the receipt.

Competition motivates

Currently, in a very small number of stores, we will meet with a refusal to replace our purchase. Strong competition in the policy of stores causes the desire to have high-quality customer service, which does not equate to refusing to exchange a missed gift. However, it is worth having a proof of purchase in such a situation. However, if you do not have a receipt, remember that if you paid by card, you only need a bank statement.

Time plays a big part!

What is the most important thing in exchanging a gift? Time! Please note that purchased online products have a different exchange time than those purchased directly from a brick-and-mortar store. So how much time do we have? In the case of online purchase, we have 14 days to resign from the goods and another 14 days to return it. However, if we bought a gift directly in a stationary store, only the owner can allow us or refuse to exchange / resign from the goods. If the store has internal regulations for this type of situation, we usually have 30 days to do so and specific conditions. However, we hope that all your gifts are hit and that no one will have to struggle with their exchange 🙂
