Research by Statistics Norway shows that more and more children are growing up in low-income families. In 2016, this percentage was 10,3%, although a year later it was already 10,7%. Does the problem only concern immigrant families? 

Growing up in a low-income family

According to analyzes carried out by Statistics Norway, it turns out that after 2011, more than 30 more children grew up in low-income homes. Unfortunately, this percentage is constantly growing - in 000 it was 2016%, and a year later it was 10,3%. As a result of such actions, these children often feel isolated and inferior, and cannot afford many attractions that their peers can.

In 2017, almost 106 children under the age of 000 lived in low-income households. According to research conducted by Statistics Norway, it turns out that since 18, the percentage of children raised in poorer families has been increasing year by year. The main cause of this phenomenon is increasing number of children in immigrant families. Since 2017, this number has been constantly increasing and, finally, it turns out that only 5,7% of non-immigrant children belonged to poor families, while among children immigrants, this percentage was almost seven times higher, i.e. 38%. Of course, it must be added that the number of children raised in non-immigrant homes, but also with low incomes, has also increased. According to research, in 2011 there were less than 40 of them, while in 000 almost 2017. Statistics Norway also proved with its analysis that most children raised in poor families have one parent.
