It happened what many of us had been waiting for. Unfortunately, not yet in Poland, but already in Norway, it will be possible to use an electronic driving license in autumn. Many drivers emphasize that these changes will be a really great convenience for them. The State Road Administration (Statens vegvesen) announced last week the appearance of an electronic driving license. Road control? Already in the fall, it is enough to show the document on the phone screen. Scandinavia is definitely a precursor of this solution - soon after it a mobile driving license will also appear in Denmark and Finland.
However, the change does not mean that you do not need a physical driving license. However, it will be a nice, practical accessory when the Norwegian is going for a "little ride" around the country. Forgotten wallet, nervous searching in pockets - no more problem. A mobile driving license will reduce the risk of getting a ticket for the lack of important documents.
Mobile law driving in Poland - since when?
So what about Poland? Theoretically, everything is ready to implement the changes. However, as is often the case in our country: it is a long way from an idea to its implementation. A spokesman for the Ministry of Digitization in a special interview for Wirtualna Polska emphasized: “However, it is necessary to adapt the law to the new solution. The relevant legislation has already been drafted. However, I cannot say how long his legislative path will take. There is also the question of the data source for the application. "
Mobile driving license in practice
How will it work in practice? During the inspection, the driver gives his name and surname and PESEL number to the police. The officer saves the data using a special application and interface. The driver receives an SMS access code to it, tells the police and at this point the officer gets access to the full data.
Unfortunately, while the idea itself is good, in Poland we will still have to wait for its effective implementation. Hopefully it will happen soon, making life easier for many drivers on the road.
