Gasoline prices are going up as we wrote in recent publications. The value of the Norwegian krone is also falling. All this has a direct impact on the sales results of gasoline and diesel fuel. As of today, the losses are already huge. The country is losing billions of dollars in this. The Norwegian Central Bureau of Statistics (SSB) showed special research results. Compared with the first six months of 2018, Norway's gasoline and diesel sales were down 2019 percent in 4,6. These are already very significant changes.

Gasoline sales in Norway - how much do we pay?

Let's take a closer look at the prices:

Gas:

Road use fee: 5,25 kr/l

CO2 emission fee: SEK 1,18 / l

Gasoline for sale in Norway. The country is losing billions

Gasoline sales in Norway are falling, and the state is losing out.

“The loss of treasury income is obvious. All the figures show that there has been a significant decline in fuel sales. (…) If the downward trend continues also in the second half of this year, it can be assumed that the annual decline in fuel sales will amount to almost 200 million liters. This will mean that, for the first time in more than ten years, less than 4000 million liters of fuel will be sold in one year. " - Einar Gotaas from the Drivkraft fuel producers industry organization.

The appearance of electric cars is not without significance?

We cannot ignore electric cars here. Their appearance had a significant impact on drivers' choices and, consequently, on the sales of petrol, oil and diesel in Norway. People who drive a lot they are more willing to choose electric vehicle – for financial, economic and ecological reasons. There are more and more electric cars on the streets of the capital Oslo.
