The next parliamentary elections will be held in October. As it always happens, individual parties prepare a series of election promises. This is also the case here. Unfortunately, in view of the recent problems with crude oil, some of the election promises will not be realized. Elections and oil go hand in hand. This is shown very clearly in the latest report - Norway is a country dependent on oil. If we even take a closer look at the capital city of the country - Oslo - about 7.000 workers would lose their jobs if the oil industry ceased to exist.

Oil industry representatives are watching with interest as oil and gas issues emerge in election promises.

At the same time, politicians are pushing to reduce emissions and capture and retain carbon dioxide as effectively as possible. These are extremely important issues with which we, as representatives of the oil industry, fully agree. I think we will continue to see broad consensus on oil and gas policy.”  - Schjøtt-Pedersen for Nattevisen.
