Would you like to visit a fellow countryman who is "in prison"?

If so, this possibility already exists. Under the auspices of The Norwegian Red Cross launched an operation, thanks to which each of you can visit prisons, e.g. in Indre Østfold or any other prison located in Norway and talk to a Pole imprisoned there. During such a visit, you can play bingo or a chat quiz together. Estimated visit time is one hour every two weeks.

W Norwegian prisons There are many Poles for whom meeting and talking to another compatriot can be a great support from you. Far from home, often unable to speak the language they feel neither Norwegian nor English great isolation and discomfort. Just contact with the Polish language can mean a lot to them. We would like as many prisoners as possible to be visited by their compatriots and thus be able to speak in their native language. Therefore, we encourage anyone interested in this form of support for Poles to visit Polish prisoners.

Interested? - take a look at  redcross.no -  here you can find more information about the Norwegian Visitor Service as well as your local Norwegian Red Cross office.

Or if you live in Indre Østfold? - send me an e-mail -  [email protected]  (Berit Seim, Visiting Manager, Indre Østfold Prisons)

Perhaps there is someone out there who would like your visit.
