The German government coalition - is it hanging in the balance? It is known for a long time that German politics has recently been in turmoil. At first glance, everything is fine, but it is not going well inside. This trend has been going on for a long time. More precisely, since 2018, when a close alliance was formed between the two largest political groups in the country. We are talking here about the center-right block of Angela Merkel and the Social Democrats from the SPD. From that moment on, problems and a wave of mishaps began: from disastrous results in local elections, to stepping on each other's feet, to a leadership crisis. At the moment, the SPD does not want to be in this arrangement anymore. What will be the future of this coalition? Does it still have a chance to exist?

German government coalition - negative moods are growing ...

Let us remind you that the German government coalition is currently finishing half of its term. The biggest challenge lies ahead - the fight for the leadership of the SPD. Already after the last elections, support for the party was falling, and the SPD did not want to associate with Merkel anymore. However, it happened otherwise. Despite this, party members are not satisfied with this and want changes. A chance for such changes are new elections for a new manager in the ranks of the SPD. We will know the results in November. However, we already know that several serious candidates are declared opponents of the coalition.

First round of elections - what are the results?

The German government coalition in question. The full results will be known at the end of November. The first turn is as follows. The duo headed by the German finance minister Olaf Scholz, a strong supporter of the party coalition with Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats, came first with 22,7 percent. Second place was taken by Norbert Walter-Borjans and Saskia Esken, who are opposed to the party's further alliances with the conservatives.

Moods are hot and very tense. It remains to wait for the result. Time will tell what the results of this clash will be. We will certainly inform you about them.
