It was a special day under the watchful patronage of the Embassy. We were there and we present a report from this event especially for you. Only here, there is a speech by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Oslo, Iwona Woicka-Żuławska, and an appeal to the entire Polish community in Norway. Watch - let's appreciate freedom and enjoy it.

Independence Day celebrations in Norway - an extraordinary exhibition

The event at the Fenix House of Culture was moving for all of us. Particularly noteworthy was the exhibition referring to the day Poland regained its independence. We could watch original excerpts from Norwegian newspapers and articles that referred to an event so important for the entire Polish nation. Original articles from local magazines have been preserved. Awesome! It turns out that regaining Poland's independence left its mark and was significant not only for Poland itself, but also for the whole of Europe. The world press, including the Norwegian press, lived through this significant transformation.

Independence Day celebrations in Norway. Let's remember about freedom!

The Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Oslo moved with her speech. Memory is very important. Memory and respect for the country, for ourselves - respect for the freedom that we, in times of peace, can enjoy. Often in the rush of important matters, at the present pace of life, we forget about our extraordinary happiness living "here and now" - living in times of peace, without enslavement ... But it is worth stopping at least for a moment and thinking about our countrymen who lived in that period. For all the people who fought for our country, fought for our common freedom. That is why it is worth celebrating such days as November 11 - every year!
