American Airlines: why is the crew afraid to fly? Boening 737 - is a plane that was grounded by Norwegian airlines in March this year. The entire fleet of Norwegian airlines will not take off even once. The reason for this decision is the high accident rate of the aforementioned aircraft. The decision to ground them by Norwegian airlines is aimed at ensuring the safety of not only the crew, but most of all passengers. American Airlines still has the Boening 737. American airline employees are afraid to fly these planes. What do we know about this?

American Airlines - why are pilots afraid to fly?

The reason why American Airlines flight crew as well as American Airlines pilots are afraid to fly Boening 737s is related to the high accident rate of these machines. There are great difficulties in driving these aircraft, and additionally - they are still equipped with an older software model. These are not sufficient security measures that allow you to comfortably travel on such a plane. Even though the entire Boening 737 fleet at the disposal of Norwegian airlines has been grounded, the Americans still fly them. This is met with protests from the local trade unions.

Fear of flying ... Safety first

Let's take a closer look at this situation. Can the company's management do anything about this matter? The condition that must be met for Americans to stop protesting about flying the ill-fated plane is a guarantee of travel safety. At the moment, without up-to-date software and due to difficulties in driving the machine, this safety is not guaranteed. The FAA is to conduct a thorough inspection of the machines and, based on its results, approve or exclude the possibility of flying them. However, this will happen at the earliest in March 2020. Unofficially, it is said that the Boeing 737 will be one of the machines that has been subjected to such detailed inspection. At the same time, the management of American Airlines does not see any contraindications to allowing the Boeing 737 Max to continue to transport passengers. This opinion is not shared by cabin workers and members of the American Airlines trade union.
