The government has introduced a ban on the use of mineral oil for heating and drying buildings under construction and renovation from 2022. The ban will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from construction sites.

 – The government aims to make the building and construction sector free from fossil fuels by 2025. The ban is an important step on the way – he says Minister of Climate and Environment Sveinung Rotevatn.

 A ban is expected will reduce emissions greenhouse gases by around 80 tonnes per year by 000. The ban could also have other beneficial effects, such as reducing air pollution on construction sites and in cities.

 To give industry and market time to adapt, the ban will enter into force before January 1, 2022. However, this ban will not apply to heating holiday homes or production facilities.
