Oslo University Hospital and Telemark Hospital are among hospitals that have now tightened their visiting rules.
Visits were banned at the University Hospital in Oslo on September 15th. However, there are exceptions for essential companions and visitors to certain patients, including children and pregnant women and mothers.
Due to the infection, Telemark Hospital reintroduced a general visit ban. The exception is critically ill and dying patients.
- This is one of several measures that we are implementing to ensure operation in the future, says hospital director Tom Helge Rønning in a press release.
She says she understands that this is very stressful for many patients and relatives on the days before the holiday season. However, it is an absolutely necessary measure to keep the situation under control. The hospital is also introducing mandatory face masks.
