The hotel quarantine program does not change who will be in the entry quarantine. Quarantine period. She still lasts 10 days after entering Norway. Anyone who is to be subject to an entry quarantine must quarantine a hotel, this also applies to Norwegian nationals.

There are three important exceptions:

  • People who live or own a house in Norway and live in the house or other suitable place of residence.
  • Those who came to Norway for work or other tasks and have an employer or employer who has provided a suitable place to stay with a private room during the quarantine period.
  • Asylum seekers and displaced refugees.

Inhabitant

"Resident in Norway" means a person who is registered as resident in Norway or persons who have applied to Norway in the national registry. On entry, it must be possible to prove that you live in Norway. This can be done, for example, by referring to the registration information with the tax administration.

– You own a house

If you are a homeowner in Norway, you must be able to document this upon entry. This also includes recreational properties such as Hyty but not caravans and boats. Renting a house is not enough. For people living in the same household who are traveling together, for example spouses or cohabiting partners and children, it is sufficient that at least one of the travelers owns a home in Norway.

Job

Documentation is required both for the performance of work or assignments and for the employer or client to provide adequate space to live in a private room. This could be, for example, an employment contract or transfer, and an employer's statement of accommodation.

Svalbard

People living in Svalbard who cannot document a suitable place of residence on the mainland must stay in quarantine hotels.

A minor child

Unaccompanied minors who are not covered by these exemptions or the exclusion listed below for children traveling with their parents will have the option of guardians at the quarantine hotel.

Hotel quarantine

Guests staying at the hotel must pay their own contribution for their stay. The deduction is NOK 500 per day for natural persons and NOK 1500 per day for employers. The rest of the expenses will be covered by municipalities, which in turn will be covered by the state.

People staying in a quarantine hotel will have the opportunity to test for covid-19. Even if the test is negative during the quarantine period, the quarantine period will not be shortened.

In the event of a breach of the quarantine obligation, we will contact the police, which will consider possible criminal proceedings.
