Oslo - a man lands in the hospital after being hit by an ice lump in the head

There was an unfortunate accident on Saturday evening. A man moving through the streets of Oslo city center was hit by an ice block in the head that fell from the roof of the building. As a result of the incident, the injured person was taken to hospital, and the police appealed to pedestrians to exercise caution. 

An ice block hits the head of a man in Oslo

The police informed about the whole incident on their Twitter around 21:00. In the first place, when the police officers arrived at the scene, they thought that the man was sick and had suffered some kind of attack. However, only later it turned out that the victim had been hit in the head and shoulder by an ice block. As a result of the accident, he was taken to a nearby hospital, while remaining conscious. After all, the man was fine, but the owner of the building may face a severe punishment.

The thaw in eastern Norway

The weather that has appeared in the last few days in eastern Norway has led to a thaw in the large amount of snow and ice. As a result, the falling ice from the buildings caused several damage to the cars. Just before 14 p.m. yesterday, in the southeastern ward, police received a notice that an ice ridge had fallen from a roof at Torggata in Skien and struck a parked car. As a consequence, the vehicle was damaged. IN Hønefoss and Drammen the police also reported similar cases.

Over 30 submissions

Police say that in the last few days they have received more than 30 reports of an accident caused by ice falling from the roof of the building. As a reminder, we will add that the property owner is responsible for maintaining security within his home. Ultimately, it is always possible to use the help of the fire brigade, who will be happy to help you clean up the ice.
