Important information for residents of Norway

From March 16, new recommendations are in force for all people with symptoms of colds and respiratory infections. People with symptoms of respiratory infections should stay home according to the updated recommendation of the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.

This recommendation also applies to people with mild symptoms such as a cold or a sore throat. These people should stay home until recovery and an additional day after the last symptoms have disappearedów.

On March 15, the Norwegian government introduced a new regulation that allows municipalities ban on staying in recreational homes and apartments (hytte) in a commune other than the place of permanent residence.

In addition, a wide range of local travel regulations and restrictions are in place.

To stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus and help maintain essential health and social care services, the Directorate of Health (Helsedirektoratet) has decided to take further measures, which have entered into force since Thursday March 12.

The following institutions are closed:

  • Before school
  • Primary schools (barneskoler)
  • youth / Gimnazja (Ungdomsskoler)
  • Secondary schools (Videregårende skoler)
  • Universities and colleges
  • Other educational institutions.
