Where to find inspiration for hiking in Norway?
- Easter is the high season for outdoor life in Norway. Free mobile travel apps are great. They can make more people come out and discover new places, says Synne Kvam, communications manager at Norsk Friluftsliv.
Norsk Friluftsliv is an organization of 18 Norwegian outdoor organizations with over 5000 teams and associations nationwide. Here are their suggestions for 10 apps and websites that can inspire you to get out into nature even on the upcoming Easter.

Here are ten free cruise apps
UT.no. : A trip planner throughout Norway from the Norwegian Tourism Association, available both as an app and as a website. The trips are marked by the degree of difficulty, so here everyone will find something for themselves.
GodTur: The cruise portal is available both as an app and as a website. Includes maps and trip suggestions for the whole country. It also shows huts / sheds and picnic areas. The portal was developed by Friluftsrådenes Landsforbund and Statskog.
CULTUR: A fun hiking app for kids aged 4-12 to record the length of your trip and earn points for your activity. The app was developed by the Norwegian Tourism Association (Den Norske Turistforeningen).
NJFF: This app of the Norwegian Hunters and Fishermen Association (Norges Jeger- og Fiskerforbund) provides an overview and fishing tips for the most popular species of fish. It also shows adapted fishing grounds and boat ramps across the country.
Hvor ?:This Kartverket application allows you to download maps corresponding to Norway's main topographic map series "Norway 1: 50" directly to your phone. Very useful if you land out of range!
New hiking destinations with free apps
Stolpejakten: Go out and look for the "posts" that are in the area. The bars are registered in the app or on the website. This is a great way to discover new places and meet your community. It is also great fun for children and adults.
Viltappen: An app created by the Swedish Hunters Association that provides additional information about most animals that can be seen and heard in nature. Perfect for a trip with children.
sky map: Helps you map the night sky. Point your cell phone at the stars above you and discover what really is above you.
Skisporet.no : Keeps you informed about the state of the cross-country ski runs. 23 km of ski runs from 000 ski resorts in Norway.
Hjelp 113: All of Norway! If you have a field accident, this app from Norsk Luftambulanse is very useful. If you call the alarm center via the app, it will automatically share the coordinates where you are located. The application also contains the location and information about defibrillators available in Norway.
