A great day for Polish tennis…
We saw great emotions in the first set. The initial triumph of the Polish woman, but the American Sofia Kenin did not give up. It is safe to say that the girls were hitting the ball. The second set at the beginning belonged to Sofia. Swiatek, however, did not give up and repaid in a beautiful style. During the second match, the American asked for a break and a physiotherapeutic consultation. She returned to the court, but was not in the same condition as before. This gave Iga Świątek the gate to a spectacular win. It also happened - Iga Świątek defeated her rival with the result: Iga Świątek (Poland) - Sofia Kenin (USA, 4) 6: 4, 6: 1. Bravo Iga!

In the first singles round she defeated Tímea Babos 6:3, 6:2, and in the second round she won against Carla Suárez Navarro 6:3, 7:5. In the third round she fought Donna Vekić, winning 7:5, 6:3. On February 6, together with the Polish national team led by Dawid Celt, which was in a group with Slovenia, Turkey and Sweden, it started the qualifying games for the Federation Cup in Luxembourg, winning all three matches against Slovenian Nika Radišić 6:2, 6:1 and Turkish Berfu Cengiz. 6:3, 6:0 and Swedish Mirjam Björklund 7:5, 4:6.” (source: Wikipedia) And this is only the beginning of her extraordinary achievements.
