The traditions of Octoberfest
For the 205th time, tourists from all over the world will come to Munich to celebrate the biggest hop harvest festival. For the first 61 years, Octoberfest was held in October, hence its colloquial name for the October festival. In 1872, the start date of the event was postponed to September. The main goal of the festival at the turn of these two months was to get rid of the stocks before starting the brewing of new beer.

Beer festival, but not only, because lovers of pretzels, good company, fun until dawn, will find a place for themselves there. For several years, the organizers of the event have met with more and more interest. The average number of people who come during the festival is about 6 million. During the game, an incredibly large amount of liters of beer is sold, as it is estimated that as much as 5 million.
The other side of the coin
The organization of Octoberfest brings many benefits not only to the beer industry, but also to the tourist industry. Due to the large number of tourists who come to Munich to feel the atmosphere of the festival, hotel owners are increasing their accommodation prices by almost 40 percent, according to a study by Kayak. You cannot ignore the aviation industry, which also increases ticket prices between September 22 and October 7, but it is not as drastic as for accommodation in a hotel.

Lufthansa is a partner
The airline decided to unite with the organizers of Octoberfest, but also to add atmosphere on board its planes, as evidenced by the clothing of the staff. Lufthansa dresses its employees in traditional Bavarian clothes in selected directions, and the passenger can choose draft beer from the menu during the flight. Emirates did not allow itself to be left in oblivion and introduced a Bavarian menu on flights between Germany and Dubai during the festival.
