The situation on the RS Brim hybrid ferry, which is located on the Vallø quay near Tønsberg, is still not under control. Thus, the police designated a security zone of 300 meters from the place where the boat is located. This also applies to boat traffic in the area. The fire department cannot therefore rule out an explosion

The boat's electric motor is powered by several large batteries. There is a risk that the gas that may be generated in these batteries will catch fire if overheated. The fire department therefore cannot rule out an explosion and has therefore closed the southern part of the peninsula until further notice.

The situation is still not under control

This covers the whole thing recreational area and all activities around Sjøsenteret Vallø, including the entire marina in Sjøsenteret Vallø outside the inner harbor (formerly a wallpaper factory). This does not affect any homes, but several businesses. There is no toxic smoke coming from the boat at this time, but police are encouraging residents to close their doors and windows if they see or smell smoke from the boat.

It is impossible to say how long this condition will last

Before the situation is brought under control, the security zone will be maintained. It is impossible to say for how long this measure will be maintained, but action in this area must be based on the fact that the situation will be unstable for the next few days. Police and fire brigades will stay on site until further notice.
