Now, 33,5 million kronor is distributed among the institutions

Many museums and music and art institutions had to stay as a result of local infection control measures fully or partially closed before Christmas. It was then desirable to find alternative audience-oriented activities. Therefore, now NOK 33,5 million is allocated to the institutions for going concern costs.

I wanted institutions to look at what alternative actions might be aimed at the audience

“When local infection control measures were in place before Christmas, I wanted to look at keeping the wheels moving. I wanted institutions to look at what alternative actions might be aimed at the audience. The pre-Christmas period is a celebration of culture and I am glad that so many have found, for example, digital solutions for their productions - says Abid Q. Raja, Minister of Culture and Gender Equality.

The Ministry of Culture donated 33,5 million to museums, music and art institutions

Based on information from institutions about the financial implications of more restrictive local infection control measures than national measures in the period November - December 2020, the Ministry of Culture donated 33,5 million CZK to museums, music and art institutions.

Many people enjoyed the digital productions and exhibitions as well as the live broadcasts of the performances

- I know that many people enjoyed the digital productions and exhibitions as well as the live broadcasts of the performances in the run-up to Christmas. The fact that many of our institutions have managed to show an alternative pre-Christmas program proves that the joy of disseminating it is great all over the country and means a lot to many people - sums up the Minister of Culture and Gender Equality.
