The Minister of Fisheries and Seafood, Odd Emil Ingebrigtsen, is allocating NOK 13 million to projects that will make more children and young people eat seafood.
- I want children and teenagers to eat even more of the fantastic seafood that can be found in Norway. Now we are looking for an app with good projects that can help inspire young people to do just that, says Ingebrigtsen.

Seafood is healthy and ensuring good habits is an important investment. The Minister allocates NOK 13 million to a good project.

10 million goes to the Fiskesprell diet program, which includes conducts courses for employees of kindergartens and schools. 3 million are going to projects that will give children and young people a good experience with fish and seafood.
- Good eating habits are formed early in life. Ensuring good habits is therefore an important investment. Seafood is both healthy and good, something we will have to eat more in the future. Increased consumption of seafood is good for both the environment and the health of the population, says the minister.

Institutions, organizations, companies and individuals can apply for money now

Already now institutions, organizations, companies and individuals can apply for money from the pool of 3 million. This year, priority will be given to major projects that can have a particularly sustained and long-term impact on diet and eating habits. Seafood activities will make it easier for children and young people to participate in the preparation of seafood while learning more about seafood as a food. You can apply for money from this pool until June 20, 2021 inclusive.

Two programs will get the money. 10 million for the Fiskesprell diet program and 3 million for activities that will increase seafood consumption

The Ministry of Trade and Industry has decided that 10 million NOK will join the Fiskesprell diet program. Fiskesprell is a collaboration between the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Climate and Environment, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Norwegian Fisheries Council and the Fish Sales Associations. The industry contributes funds to the program and supports the purchase of raw materials. The money goes to courses for kindergarten, school, SFO/AKS and vocational training employees, professional materials, inspirational brochures and financial support for the purchase of seafood. The Ministry of Trade and Industry also allocates 3 millions NOK for activities that will contribute to the increase in seafood consumption by the population. Priority will be given to activities aimed at children and young people. Applications can be submitted by institutions, organizations, companies and private individuals in Norway.
