Information on vaccines for children aged 12 to 15 will appear at the government's press conference on Thursday. Confirmed Minister of Health and Health, Bent Høie (H).

- This is a blanket announcement and then you'll have to wait until the press conference to find out what's going on. Health minister at the Politisk kvarter in NRK said Thursday morning.

Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) will organize a press conference on the coronavirus situation along with several health leaders on Thursday at 12.00.

Information on vaccines for children

Høie also commented on the debate on the level of infection control in schools and rejected that the goal is to infect children. Former director Nils Strandberg Pedersen of the Danish Statens Serum Institut (SSI) believes that this will happen with as few restrictions in schools as there are currently in Norway and Denmark.

- Children do not get particularly sick with Covid-19. The disease is no more dangerous than the common flu, Strandberg Pedersen told Politisk kvarter.

– There are still many unvaccinated people in Norway and the number of infections is increasing among children will increase the risk of infection to unvaccinated adults, Høie said.

The Norwegian Health Directorate recommends that the government postpone step four

Until the rate of fully vaccinated people is much higher than it is now, Norwegian Directorate of Health recommends that the government postpone step four of the restart plan. The Norwegian Directorate of Health is not currently recommending changes, they write in their professional opinion, which they submitted to the government on Wednesday 1 September.
