. At a press conference on Friday, the government will announce that Norway can fully reopen. However, the Ministry of Health and Welfare denies this claim.

On Thursday morning, the Dagens Næringsliv newspaper reported that the government would announce a full reopening of the public at a press conference on Friday. However, after contacting the Ministry of Health and Healthcare, they reject the accuracy of the information in the newspaper.

- The ministry says, whether or not there is a press conference tomorrow, that what is at Dagens Næringsliv is not true. There will be no notification of the complete lifting of the restrictions, the ministry says.

Misunderstanding about the restrictions. Full opening - what does it mean?

Full reopening means a transition to the so-called normal everyday life with increased readiness. This phase can be summed up in two points:

  • Everyday life will be affected by the minor effects of the pandemic. We will still have to remember about hand hygiene, not have to be at home in case of illness, but undergo a test if necessary. But special measures against Covid-19 are gradually being phased out.
  • At the same time, local and national authorities will closely monitor developments so that precautionary measures can be taken quickly in the event of a change. The government, health services, hospitals and municipalities will have increased monitoring and preparedness.

This means, among other things, that at midnight the requirements for serving tables in pubs or restricting places in pubs will be abolished.
