The Directorate for Integration and Diversity (IMDi) is asking 212 municipalities to resettle 5500 refugees in 2022. At the same time, 32 communes additionally request the settlement of 141 minor refugees.
The Directorate for Integration and Diversity (IMDi) sends an annual letter to municipalities requesting settlement refugees for the next year. The application is based on the Immigration Administration's projections of expected settlement need.
According to the management, in 2021 the willingness to settle refugees was high.
"The municipalities deserve recognition for their ability to find good solutions in unpredictable and demanding times," says IMDi director Libe Rieber-Mohn.
The distribution of demand for distribution in communes was decided by IMDi in consultation with the KS with the participation of poviat communes. The layout is based on criteria specified by the Ministry of Education and Research.
Forecasts for 2022 varied significantly throughout the year. This means that there may be changes in the number of refugees to be settled next year.
- Work with displaced refugees is influenced by the size of the quota and travel restrictions. In addition, there is a confusing situation in Afghanistan and other areas of the conflict. These are factors that could influence next year's need for the settlement of refugees, says Libe Rieber-Mohn.
