Norway-World Wrestling Championships

For the first time on Norwegian soil, the world championships in all wrestling styles are held. Follow the medal competition of the best wrestlers at NRK between October 6-10.

Every day during world championship Norwegian athletes compete in various weight classes, and world champions are to be chosen every day.

Grace Bullen is the first potential medalist to be hoped for on Wednesday, with a possible final on Thursday. Oskar Marvik will be fighting for the first time on Friday, while Stig-Andre Berge and Morten Thoresen will appear on the mat on Saturday and the medal competition will take place on Sunday.

This is what the World Cup broadcasts will look like

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday directly from the event at. 16.15pm, with the semi-finals and finals against Jordal all afternoon and evening until the hour. 21.00.

On Saturday, the World Cup match will be broadcast all day from 11:00 to 21:00, while on Sunday the World Cup day will start at 16.00 and lasts until. 19.00.

Live broadcasts start daily on NRK1 and in the evening on NRK2.

The studio is hosted by Ole Rolfsrud, and Carl Andreas Wold is commenting together with Mats Rolfsen.

- Working with the wrestling team will be magical. So many stories, characters! I hope for a great Norwegian moment at home with full stands, Norwegian medals and tears of joy. I can't wait to see Oscar Marvik's 'Tåsen plow' win a medal, but I'm most excited about Stig-André Berge's departure in his last championship, says host Ole Rolfsrud.

Felix Baldauf becomes expert commentator

In the documentary series "Head in a pinch", viewers in recent weeks have been able to follow wrestlers Felix Baldauf, Grace Bullen, Stig-André Berge and Morten Thoresen and their preparations for the Olympic Games and the World Cup.

However, the World Cup at home in Oslo is without Felix Baldauf, who has to wander about with long-term injury problems.

Now instead he will be NRK's ​​expert commentator in the studio during the World Cup broadcast on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Baldauf says it will be difficult to sit and watch his teammates instead of being there with them, but is glad to have the opportunity to be in the studio.

- I know how hard boys and girls work and what they can achieve. It will be great to see boys and girls in action and hope we can enjoy good performances, he says.

More than 800 athletes from 80 countries will gather at the Jordal Amphitheater for the World Cup, which will run for a total of nine days from October 2, but where Norway's greatest hope for medals will first be on the mat from Wednesday 6 October. Baldauf is now excited about the implementation of the event.

– It seems completely unreal to have it here Oslo the world's biggest sports stars. I'm really looking forward to seeing the atmosphere during the championship, he says.
