- This order is an important step in the ecological change of Norwegian Post. We are making big cuts in climate emissions. At the same time, we get a more modern and environmentally friendly car fleet. Undoubtedly, this investment is important for the environment. It is also in line with the wishes of both our drivers and customers. These are big changes that include both smaller electric vans and large gas trucks with a gross vehicle weight of up to 60 tons, says Tone Wille, CEO of Norwegian Post.

Norwegian Post has the largest vehicle fleet in Norway, including approximately 3050 delivery vans and mopeds and approximately 780 trucks. The post office has been working on restructuring its vehicle fleet for a long time. The company wants to use more environmentally friendly cars. The investment is currently intensified. Of the 439 new renewable energy cars ordered, 323 new vans will replace those powered by fossil fuels, and 18 of them will replace existing electric vans. From the new pool, 37 new electricians will meet new needs. Norwegian Post started the year by testing the first ones heavy vehicles powered by renewable energy. The investment is also reinforced with 61 new renewable energy trucks. New trucks will replace fossil fuel ones. 42 trucks will run on biogas, and 19 will be electric. 14 gas trucks are container ships with a total permissible weight of up to 60 tons.

Enova supported the vehicles of Noreska Poczta in the field of electricity and biogas.

- To be successful in the transition to a low-carbon society, the transport sector must opt for climate-friendly solutions. Here the Norwegian Post takes the lead and shows that there are good alternatives to diesel vehicles, says Øyvind Leistad, Marketing Director at Enova.

- The PWC climate index for 2020 showed that the Norwegian Post was one of only four Norwegian companies to cut emissions under the Paris Agreement. The new orders show that we are working hard on our environmental ambitions. Our ambitions are to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions, says Wille.

New renewable energy vehicles will be systematically launched in all parts of the country. The largest liquefied biogas trucks will be put into regular service and transport of letters, parcels and goods between the terminals in Oslo and Fredrikstad, Stokke and Hamar.
