Anyone over the age of 18 will receive a third dose of the vaccine, and municipalities can use vaccination passports to avoid confinement to the vaccinated.
This was announced by the government at a press conference on the coronavirus situation on Friday.
People aged 18 to 64 years old should be offered a refresher dose of the vaccine at least six months after the second dose of the vaccine.
This can help to protect against disease and prevent the spread of infection.
- But we need more knowledge about it. Therefore, we asked the FHI to conduct an ongoing benefit-risk assessment of the third adult dose. This is the Minister of Health and Welfare Ingvild Kjerkol (Labor).
Municipalities give priority to giving the first and second doses of the vaccine to those who have not yet received it, as well as a refreshing dose to people over 65 years of age, people with a weakened immune system and medical staff.
Corona certification to avoid shutdown
Several municipalities wanted to use the vaccination certificate to avoid closure, distance requirements and number restrictions, says the Minister of Health.
`` We will quickly implement a regulation that will allow municipalities to use certificates to relax local COVID-19 laws, '' he says.
This applies to those who have green certificate: Vaccinated people, people who are immune, have suffered from coronavirus disease or have a negative test result.
The government will look in more detail at the wider use of certificates at national level.
- We will consider whether a coronavirus certification could be an appropriate measure to limit infection. For example, in concert halls, sports events, cinemas and theaters. Now that everyone has been offered a vaccine, it's easier to imagine that a certificate could be used. To prevent the infection from spreading a lot, says Støre.
New preventive measures. New test requirements for unvaccinated people
There are also new testing requirements. Unvaccinated people over 18 who live with an infected person are now required to undergo testing. This has been the case since November 16.
The test is compulsory for seven days from the last close contact with an infected person. You need to check yourself daily for seven days with a self test or every other day with a PCR test.
If you live with someone who is infected, you should stay home until you get a negative answer to the first test.
The government believes unvaccinated medical personnel should be tested twice a week. He should also receive a clear message to use masks. The Norwegian Health Directorate will send guidelines on this to municipalities, says Kjerkol.
He emphasizes that what can reverse the development of the infection are the same measures that we know and are proven
- It is important for everyone to stay home in the event of illness, to be tested and to isolate themselves in the event of confirmed COVID-19 disease.
