. The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, introduced a state of emergency on the border with Belarus on Thursday due to the influx of migrants.

On Tuesday, the government asked the president to introduce a state of emergency in connection with the situation on the border with Belarus. President's spokesman Błażej Spychalski said Thursday afternoon. "This application was thoroughly analyzed by the president in a group of advisers, there were meetings and discussions at the National Security Bureau."

It is forbidden to stay there for everyone except those who live in the border area. The media coverage from the area will also be strictly regulated.

In recent months, thousands of migrants, mainly from the Middle East, have come across the border from Belarus to EU countries. These countries are Lithuania, Latvia and Poland.

The EU and Poland believe that the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, is facilitating migrants as retaliation for EU sanctions.

Poland deployed 2000 troops in the area and began building a barbed wire fence along the border to deter migrants.

These measures led to opposition protests against the right-wing national government. The opposition believes that the measures are a pretext to increase support from opponents of immigration.

The situation of some 30 migrants from Afghanistan is particularly controversial. Who for almost a month got stuck in an improvised tent camp in no man's land on the border. The soldiers prevent Polish organizations from helping, while denying them access to Poland.
