Society has now moved to normal everyday life, but with increased readiness. This means that most restrictions have been lifted and students will continue to attend school as normal.
Students with long absences and long absences
Local outbreaks can mean many students become infected and will be forced to isolate themselves. This can lead to long-term student absences from class, especially if they have had long absences earlier in the pandemic.
The school / school owner must make an individual assessment of how much the student has missed. Consideration of the student's overall education and best interests is critical to the school owner's responsibility to provide the student with home education.
If the students as a whole are not receiving satisfactory benefits from their education, the school owner must assess whether they need special education. This can apply to both long-term absent students and students who need extra help when they return to school.
Students belonging to at-risk groups.
Students at risk or those who have close relatives from the groups risk, they have the right to receive an offer of home learning. In such cases, the school owner has an obligation to provide home schooling to students immediately, regardless of how long the students must be out of school.
Individual special education decisions are not required to carry out such training. The school needs to consider if and what kind of documentation is required. "Close family" refers to those with whom the student lives and from whom isolating the student is not justified.
In the event of school closures or restrictions on access to the school
The municipality may, in accordance with the Infection Control Act, make local decisions to close or limit school hours if necessary for infection control purposes. The municipality can then also use the measures in the color code model. Students must receive part of their home education when the school has a shortened opening or stay period. Schools must provide home education to students from day one.
The school owner must ensure that all students at all levels receive an offer at the school, as long as the school is open. Students in grades 1-4 must, if possible, be offered a full-time job at the school.
Students with at least one parent who works in a critical social function, and students with special needs that cannot be addressed in home education, must be educated at school.
It is still recommended that you stay home and get tested if you are sick. Absence due to tests or mild respiratory symptoms generally does not imply an obligation to conduct classes at home. However, we do recommend that the school owner arrange home activities for students who cannot or should not attend physical school.
