The handwritten notes of physicist Albert Einstein related to the theory of relativity were sold for 11,6 million euros - the equivalent of 116 million kronor.
Tuesday's sale at the Paris auction is the highest amount ever paid for one of Einstein's manuscripts.
The manuscript containing preparatory works for the physicist's theory of relativity is 54 pages long. Einstein wrote it together with his colleague, engineer Michele Besso.
The manuscript was originally priced at a price that was about a quarter of the final sum.
Einstein was born in Germany in 1879 and is considered one of the greatest geniuses of our time. Albert Einstein lived to be 76 years old, died in 1955.
