According to research by the Electronics Industry Foundation, Norwegians are buying more and more expensive mobile phones and larger TV sets. Mobile sales are falling, yet 2018 brought another record. NOK 35,44 billion - this was the turnover of electronics sold in the previous year.

More and more expensive Norwegian purchases

As every year, the electronics industry foundation measured the data, which shows that more than half of the TV sold in Norway is now 56-65 inches in size. At the same time, phone sales are falling from 1,9 million to 1,8 million, but people are increasingly deciding to buy a more expensive model. Experts add that many customers choose phones costing over NOK 6000, and the phone itself is still one of the most important assets in Norway. 2018 brought us another record because electronic equipment was sold for NOK 35,44 billion.

Price goes hand in hand with quality

Consumers are sure that the more they pay for the phone, the longer they will be able to use it. Due to technological developments, the current average "life" of a mobile phone is 2,5 years. It cannot be denied that this is a sharp increase compared to a few years ago, when the phone could serve us an average of 18 months. The statistics prove one more fact: the number of televisions sold is falling, while the purchased models have increasingly higher resolution. Currently, 55% of customers buy TV with a resolution of 55 to 65 inches, where last year this percentage was 50%.
