If you want to drive a pleasure boat or jet ski that can travel at 50 knots or more, you will need a high speed license from June 1. Time is short, and the season for fans of high speeds on the water is approaching.

High speed on the water
From June 1, the government is introducing a requirement for drivers to have a separate high-speed certificate recreational boats and personal watercraft that can reach speeds of 50 knots or more, equivalent to 92,6 km/h. To operate these vessels, you must have a high-speed certificate.

Have you taken the high speed course yet?
You can now apply for such a certificate at Sjøfartdirektoratet. Information about the completed course (theoretical and practical part) should be provided by the institution where you took the course. The only thing you need to do is provide a photo and signature and pay the application fee.
