- Now we ask everyone in Oslo to use face masks on public transport, shopping malls, shops and taxis, says city councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor) in Oslo.
People have to stock up on masks and have them ready by putting them in bags and jackets. Then you can protect yourself and others, Johansen said, informing the city council about the coronavirus situation.
He pointed out that the mask is also an important reminder for all of us that the pandemic is not over yet.
Johansen also said the municipality is considering the practical and legal aspects of a possible Oslo coronavirus passport.
- It can be entered. But it is very important to realize that you cannot enter a passport without introducing invasive measures from which the passport can exempt us. That's the law. Then we also have to take into account the ethical aspects, says the chairman of the city council.
He pointed out that it is known that the increase in infection will be a consequence of an open society.
- There is no indication that we will get rid of the coronavirus right away. Even with nearly 90 percent vaccination coverage, this has not been achieved. But if there's one thing this pandemic has shown us, it's how unpredictable it is, he says.
Oslo introduces recommendations
Johansen also suggested that public transport companies start again by automatically opening doors so people don't have to press buttons.
