Less than half of the immigrants from Poland, Romania and Lithuania are registered as vaccinated with at least the first dose in FHI.

According to data obtained by NRK, vaccination coverage in these groups is significantly lower than in other immigrant groups. While only 47,3 percent. Polish immigrants are registered as vaccinated with at least one dose. The corresponding figure among Afghan immigrants is 84%.

All adults in Norway have been offered the vaccination. The data concerns persons over 18 years of age who were born abroad and are registered as residents of Norway. This does not apply children of immigrants residing in Norway.

The FHI emphasizes that if someone has taken vaccines in other countries and has not reported to the Norwegian authorities, it is not included in the statistics.

In any case, they are not satisfied with the support of Eastern European immigrants. Department director Thor Indseth at FHI answers the following NRK questions about whether they can do more to reach this group:

- I would say this question is for the municipalities, the FHI and for the Norwegian authorities in general. We can certainly do more. We are not satisfied with the numbers that are now. But I think we need to focus on a long term strategy where we focus on building trust.
