The Norwegian Health Directorate, the Norwegian Health Network and the FHI are currently working on adapting the covid certificate for national use. In the near future, we are working on providing guidance on how the current solution can be adapted for use by municipalities wishing to introduce a crown certificate. So far, only the municipality of Tromsø has signaled that it will use the corona certificate.
The government decided last week that municipalities applying infection control measures can use the certificate to provide relief to the vaccinated, those who have been infected, and those who tested negative for Covid-48 in the past 19 hours.
Guidelines for municipalities
- We are working on both a short-term and a long-term solution. In the long term, we are working on introducing technical improvements. They will make the control patch work with ease according to national requirements, says FHI deputy director Gun Peggy Knudsen.
Criteria changes
Previously, "Norway checkpoint" had good functionality because it showed little data and had color codes. Unfortunately, the criteria for what constitutes a valid certificate are no longer correct, including for partially vaccinated people. Updating the rules on this control page will take some time before they are changed, tested and implemented. "EU/EEA control site" is used in connection with travel within the EU, but the control label for this when entering Norway is compliant with the regulations, in which a negative test result does not equate to vaccination or history of infection. This requires changes to the control tab.
Non-digital users
– In addition, we have worked a lot with solutions for non-digital users and people without Norwegian birth or D number. Work is underway to introduce solutions for the local issuance of non-digital certificates, says the deputy director of FHI. Peggy Knudsen's gun.
Only valid in municipalities with local infection control measures
The blue version of the EU crown certificate will also be used in the country to a limited extent until further notice. It is the municipalities that can make decisions on this matter. Exemptions from infection control measures by presenting a crown certificate do not currently apply throughout the country, but only in municipalities applying local infection control measures. Only the municipality of Tromsø has so far expressly signaled such use. Check with your municipality about the rules for issuing coronation certificates.
