According to Nav, unemployment fell by 8800 jobseekers to 4 percent in November. And candidates have a record number of positions to choose from.

At the end of November, 114 fully or partially unemployed and jobseekers were registered under the Nav activities. This represents 500% of the workforce. There were 4,0 fewer jobseekers than at the end of October, adjusted for seasonal fluctuations.

– Currently, there are many opportunities on the labor market for job seekers, and there are fewer and fewer unemployed people. In the last ten years in 2019 in November it was the same number of people completely unemployed, says Hans Christian Holte, director of labor and social welfare, in a press release.

He emphasizes that the omicron variant creates slightly more uncertainty about further development.

Mainly in Oslo and Trøndelag

The number of jobseekers decreased in all poviats in the last month, taking into account the normal seasonal fluctuations. The decline was greatest in Oslo and Trøndelag with 7 percent. In all poviats, both the number of fully and partially unemployed people decreased.

This is the eighth consecutive month unemployment has fallen in Oslo.

- The November decline is mainly due to layoffs in tourism and transport of professional groups after returning to work or getting a new job - says acting director Thone Nordlund in Nav Oslo.

The percentage of completely unemployed as a percentage of the workforce is highest in Oslo at 2,6% and lowest in Trøndelag at 1,5%.

All age groups

The number of jobseekers decreased in all age groups from October to November. The greatest decrease occurred in the age group 20-24 and 40-49 by 7%.

The percentage of people who are completely unemployed is the highest in the 30–39 age group, with 2,8%, and the lowest among people under the age of 20, with 1,1%. manpower. The proportion of partially unemployed is highest among those aged 30 to 49, at 1,5 percent of the workforce.

In November on arbeidsplassen.no registered 51 600 new vacancies. This corresponds to 2100 vacancies per working day, which is the same level as in October. This is historically a very high level, according to Nav.
