An experimental HIV vaccine based on mRNA, the same technology used in two successful coronavirus vaccines, according to a new study. It brought promising results.

Monkeys given the first dose followed by several more doses. They had a 79% lower risk of shiv infection than unvaccinated animals.
Mice given two doses of the vaccine received neutralizing antibodies, proteins that attach to the surface of the virus and prevent it from invading the cells.
