A fire in several apartments in Tønsberg

Five residents were evacuated as a result of a major fire in several nursing homes in Granatveien in Tønsberg.

- Five apartments are on fire. This is Anne Meyer, Operations Manager in the Southeast Police Quarter.

The fire was reported at 3.50.

"There are five people registered at the address and we have control over them, but it is not certain if there were more people in the building," he says.

Fire brigades search apartments that are connected to the Slagen senior center.

The center is open to evacuees who are looked after by ambulance and health care personnel. It is currently unknown if anyone is injured.

One person was taken to hospital with burns.
