Deputy Director of Health Espen Rostrup Nakstad. The Norwegian Health Directorate suspects that the share of vaccines in Norway would be lower if there were a vaccination requirement.

He said this in an interview with Health and Welfare Minister Ingvild Kjerkol (Labor) and Line Vold of the National Institute of Public Health on Wednesday night.

Nakstad stressed that free choice is important and builds trust.

- We believe that forcing people to vaccinate or imposing an injunction. It would do the opposite for people who are still undecided about their immunization. Under pressure, it would not be certain if we would have a high percentage of vaccinations. As of today, it is 90 percent of adults, he said.
