New Year's fireworks from Kristiansten Fortress must unfortunately be canceled due to the risk of infection and the crowds.

At a meeting on December 20, the crisis management board in the municipality of Trondheim decided to cancel the traditional New Year's fireworks from the Kristiansten fortress. This applies to both family fireworks in the early evening and fireworks at midnight.

The municipality of Trondheim cancels the traditional fireworks

National coronation laws say no more than 100 people are allowed to gather at outdoor public events. The New Year's fireworks display in the fortress will be able to collect much more and thus increase the risk of the spread of infection.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus rules and the number of people that can be gathered at the event make it too difficult to implement.
