From 1 February, fully vaccinated people must be booster dose if more than 270 days have elapsed since the last dose of the vaccine, in order to obtain a valid certification in the EU.

In other words, a complete vaccination will only give a valid certificate in the EU for 270 days after the last dose of the vaccine. It will be like this from February 1.

If you have taken or are taking a refreshing dose, the validity will be extended indefinitely, writes FHI at press release.

The decision was made by the EU before Christmas. At the same time, they concluded that detected coronavirus disease after full vaccination should not be equated with a refreshing dose. Instead, it extends the valid certificate to 180 days.

- Proven covid-19 gives a valid certificate based on the disease examined from day 11 to day 180 (corresponding to approximately 6 months). After expiry of the validity period, a refreshing dose is required to obtain a valid certificate. The second possibility is to test negative (in countries that allow it) for a valid certification, reports FHI.

Norwegian Coronavirus Certification and Verification App will be adjusted in line with the changes before Feb 1, writes FHI.
