On Wednesday, both MDG and Frp put forward in the Storting a proposal to immediately lift the national ban on the sale of alcohol.
The MMF proposal reads as follows:
“The Storting asks the government to ensure that municipalities decide for themselves whether it will be possible to allow the serving of alcohol in bars, as long as strict infection control measures are adhered to.”
The party also appeals to the government to ensure pubs commit to social distancing and limit guest numbers.
Now that an analysis of FHI's own observations says that there is no difference in infection between stopping drinking completely in bars and partially stopping drinking, I hope the Storting takes a sensible approach to the situation and votes for our proposal. We propose to allow serving alcohol in restaurants, says Hoksrud.
Rasmus Hansson from MDG will also present on Wednesday an urgent proposal to support companies in the Storting.
Before Christmas, MDG asked to replace full alcohol stoppage with local flexible solutions. Now it's urgent as the industry reports that many jobs are at risk, says Hansson, who sits on the business committee.
"The Storting is asking the government to immediately lift the full national alcohol ban and open up to flexible and locally defined solutions," says Hansson's proposal.
The Liberal Party will also remove the ban, and the SV is asking for a reassessment. At the same time, the conservatives announced their support for the government line.
