There will still be small houses with chimneys being built, this is the law. The government will not remove the requirement to have a chimney in single-family houses from the building regulations.
- It is important for people to be able to keep warm in the event of a natural disaster or other important event. By keeping the chimney requirement, we are making it easier for more people to burn firewood, says Bjørn County and Local Government Minister Bjørn Arild Gram.
Residential premises in single-family houses must have a chimney
The consultation proposals for the energy requirements of buildings contain a proposal to remove the current provisions in the construction law. According to them, residential premises in single-family houses must have a chimney.
The ministry is still verifying the consultations and contributions to them, but can already say that the chimney requirement remains maintained.
