All of these will be easier to find out with the new guide. The Ministry of Local Government and County Development has developed a simple guide together with the Construction Quality Directorate (DiBK). It explains how to use the zoning plan in connection with simple activities on your property. All municipalities have local plans that outline what you can build.
“We need to have efficient planning and construction processes, and that's when the right information is important. This guide will make it easier for anyone to understand the rules and opportunities that exist on their own property, says Bjørn Arild Gram, Minister for Local Government and District Affairs.
When it becomes easier for the developer to find the problem himself, it will also mean fewer questions for municipalities. As a result, the case may be processed faster.
Even small construction projects can have serious environmental consequences
- There are many good simplifications in the area of planning and construction. This guide is a good contribution to that, but we're not there, says Gram.
In the guide, you will easily find out what is allowed on your property and what rules apply, e.g. spatial plans and regulations. The guide explains how the planning information must underpin a possible use of a building. Even small construction projects can have serious environmental consequences.
