The Drammen commune informs about what will happen in the near future when the old city bridge is demolished and a new one is built.
A temporary bridge for pedestrians and cyclists will be built during the construction of the city bridge between Bragernes and Strømsø. Due to the existing situation, public transport must be reorganized, all in order to make it as less burdensome as possible for the inhabitants of Drammen.
Drammen will have several new bus lines. Some bus lines will have a new route, but unfortunately not many buses will cross the river. You can find all information about changes in routes and bus offer here.
A test trial will be undertaken with a free shuttle bus from Strømsø to Bragernes Torg. The offer with electric scooters will remain as before. The commune has concluded an agreement with four operators for the 2022 season and is in dialogue with a fifth one. A slow zone has been added on the temporary bridge for electric scooters (6 km/h) for the benefit of pedestrians.
In addition, the electric city bike program will be introduced in May. There will be approximately 400 electric city bikes and 60 parking spaces on the Steinberg - Åskollen section.
