The President of the European Parliament, Robert Metsola, was in Kiev on Friday

. The visit was an expression of the European Union's support for the Ukrainian people and condemned Russia's unjustified attack. On Saturday, she visited the Otwock school in the Warsaw region, hosting Ukrainians fleeing the war, together with the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki.

The chairwoman traveled to Kiev at the invitation of Ruslan Stefanchuk, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

We will never, ever leave you

“I am here to tell you that we are with you in good and difficult times. We will never, ever leave you, ”said Metsola to the Council.

During her stay in Kiev, Metsola met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky; the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal; chairman of the Council Ruslan Stefanchuk; and representatives of the political groups of the Council.

We are impressed by the efforts made by Poland

In Poland President Metsola met with Ukrainian families fleeing the war at a school in Otwock in the Warsaw region, together with the Prime Minister of Poland.

President Metsola stated: “We are impressed by the efforts made by Poland, its communities and citizens. You have given those in need a safe space. It's reassuring - it's the best in Europe.

“However, Poland bears the brunt of the consequences war outside Ukraine. That's why we need more support for Poland and other countries that welcome and host people," she called.
