Change of time from winter to summer. When do we change the time?

Daylight Saving Time (DST) is a practice used in many countries since the beginning of the XNUMXth century.

The reason for the time change

The most common motivation for starting DST is to save energy by reducing the need for lighting and heating in the evening. This doesn't always work as some studies have shown that DST can actually increase energy use as people tend to not change their behavior in response to the time change.

Time change and health impact

Changing the clock also affects our health - research shows that having a different amount of light during the day is linked to higher rates of depression and heart attacks, among other things. There is also a risk of accidents at night if drivers are not fully adapted to extended periods of darkness after losing an hour.

Change to summer time in Poland and Norway takes place on the last weekend of March. In 2023, it will be the night of March 25-26, which is already this week. On Sunday at 2:00 we will set the clocks forward one hour. They should show 3:00. For many of us, this means that nothing will change because we will sleep at the right moment.

What do you think about this?

Okay, so here we are, it's March. It's time to change the clocks, lose the hour and change the way we think about time. The thing is, for me and many others, it doesn't make sense these days. Is it really practical or just a bit of a no-brainer?
